The Performance Centre was very well represented at the Gloucestershire restricted with players showing off their new Forza t-shirts and picking up some trophies along the way.
Chinmayi Kirani won the U12/U14 Girls singles whilst also climbing up the age groups to add U16 success also in singles. The singles events being well attended by PC players with Soumiya Arulselvan, Myla Grendall-Watts, Aabha Kurtkoti, Isha Britto and Reethika Jonnada all looking to snatch the trophies away from Chin next year. Another multiple trophy winner was Ansh Nair who teamed up with fellow performance centre player Sainavaneeth Rajagoapl to win the U14/16 Boys doubles. The boys then split up to compete in the boys singles event where they met in the final after seeing off a host of PC players in Thomas Kerley, Carlo Fossali, Caleb Horne, Kharim Patel and Ben Webb. Its great to see so many PC players competing and Ansh taking his second trophy of the weekend.
Moving up the age groups the U16/U18 girls doubles was won by Sian Evans and Amy Oakley whilst Sian teamed up with Raiph Ackroyd to win the U16/U18 mixed doubles. Raiph also doubles up to win both the U18 Boys singles and boys doubles partnering Reece Watts who was an unlucky runner up in the boys singles event. There were a host of other PC players involved in all events and we hope that we will see you all in more junior tournaments soon.
There was also player and coach representation in the senior events which is great to see the juniors stepping up to really test themselves. In the men’s singles coach Sol Griffiths won his 6th Singles title seeing off the challenges of two of the most successful PC players in Henry Jones and Jamie Pearcy. Jamie won the mixed doubles with partner Kerry Mullen beating off the challenge from Ian Woolway and partner Anna Marie Abdon in the final. The Womens doubles was won by PC player Abigail Jolliffe whilst a big success from the weekend was Sian Evans winning her first senior Womens Singles title winning the gold with a 13-21, 21-14, 21-16 win in the final over Vivi Jennings-Trace.
Its great to see so much representation from the Performance Centre and please remember to print off your results and get them to Bex. See you all again next year hopefully for more title success.
